inFAMOUS 2 Festival of Blood Review
I had a blast playing inFAMOUS 2 Festival of Blood! There is only one problem; it is not as flt to be its own game as one would expect from a stand alone download. Not to say its bad, but the story line is short. It can be beaten in about an hour and a half and isn’t the best. inFAMOUS 2 Festival of Blood is not as fleshed out as it could have been. Is it a perfect game to play around Halloween? Yes absolutely but the story just feels rushed; as if it was thrown together in order to be finished by this October. However, these flaws can easily be over looked due to the wonderful voice cast, gameplay, and characters alike. Festival of Blood has more of the old inFAMOUS we all know and love with a handful of new abilities and a Halloween style of New Marais and its inhabitants which are a welcome addition. The melee combat is fluid and i found myself using it a lot more then Cole’s electrical powers due a new finisher where you stake the vampire to finish him/her off. The game plays and feels just like its predecessors and besides the civilians fake wings going through your face while your sucking the blood from their necks i cant find much to complain about gameplay wise. So if you’re in the mood for some more inFamous with a lot more melee combat, a handful of new powers, and a re-imagined New Marais then Festival of Blood is for you.

Batman Arkham City Review
Batman Arkham City has everything I could possibly want in a sequel! A strong voice cast to a strong array of characters (heroes and villains alike). Rocksteady has amped up every aspect of Arkham Asylum the combat is so fluid, and except for a few bad camera angles that leave you not able to see your final knockout i can not complain. The new gadgets were fun and helped you get across the massive map with ease. The idea of all the villains being in one city and plotting to take over was interesting but not as fleshed out. The game shows off just about every Batman enemy you can possibly think about. However, they do not all have a big role at all.
Killer Croc pops up for about 15-20 seconds, threatens Batman, and then goes back underground. THAT IS IT!!!
Why didn’t they just allow you to fight him in a side mission? I don’t know either.
Other then the small roles of some villains the game is phenomenal and the addition of Catwoman just gives so much more of a twist you feel like your playing a different game (to a certain extent) and the soon to be Robin & Nightwing will be a welcome addition that I Recommend Purchasing.
There is honestly only one complaint and that is the pop in textures. This happens fairly often and can be frustrating and destroy the experience at times especially during cutscenes (which doesn’t happen as often as the gameplay). This compared to all of the other praises this is a small and welcome issue.
I highly recommend Batman Arkham City and give it a 9.5 out of 10
Online Pass (good or bad)
The “online pass” has steadily been increasing its appearance within games lately such as Batman Arkham City and Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. However, unlike other gamers I know who claim it is ridiculous and the developers are just being greedy, I feel that this new online pass is a good thing for the gaming industry. With the addition of the online passes being included in new copies of games; gamers are less likely to buy used titles. This will keep more money in the developers pocket, which means they can pump out more AAA titles and downloadable content alike.
Batman Arkham City
Batman Arkham City is coming out tomorrow and I couldn’t be more pumped! The game was delivered a 9.5 out of 10 rating from IGN’s own Greg Miller; this only amplifies my hopes of Rocksteady’s Batman sequel even more. The game play looks as smooth as ever and with the additions of Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing the game just seems to keep getting better. Yes, the rumors are true that Catwoman is the “online pass” of Arkham City. This shouldn’t be causing such a ruckus among gamers. I for one welcome this Catwoman DLC pass and hope that because of this more people buy Arkham City new which will in turn cause Rocksteady to pump out a wealth of DLC later down the line.
